The advances in microelectronics research are changing technology of the world. One die can now contain several billion transistors or even many processor cores. In the near future, more applications will be mobile embedded systems: small in size, with very low power consumption, high performance, able to communicate.

The larger computational systems will cross the Petaflop barrier being more parallel in both, algorithms and hardware, and also with lower power consumption. This emerge changes in the design concepts of microelectronic devices, application specific processors, microelectronics, general-purpose processors and systems. It also requires new workflows and tools to work with these technologies. The reconfiguring is now migrating from the circuit level to the level of tools and algorithms.

The challenge for future is to use reconfigurablilty as the concept and exceptional optimization tool to achieve the highest efficiency, performance and low power consumption in control systems, computer and mobile systems, robotics.
